                                                   Security Robots

    Through time-to-time people’s security became a big issue and some people do not feel safe from many places. To solve that issue people created security robots and, in some way, it can make some safe and some people feel scared. The main prototype of the robot is to protect the people and give signal to the operator if any suspicious things happen. 

 It is robot that is invented by co-founder Stacy Stephens after the tragedy she has faced in Sandy hook elementary school of not having good security a sense of protection that is need to the people. It is not about filling the position; it is about filling the gap that has been needed. Also, the more the technology grows the efficiency will be for some parts into it. “Those areas where guards refuse to patrol. Knightscope’s robots have been deployed under dangerous bridges in San Francisco, crime-ridden public parking lots, and homeless encampments. One Knightscope client in southern California managed to bring break-ins to a halt, Stephen told Digital Trends.” The robots are not taking the jobs of the people, they are just doing the jobs that needed to do. They are there to make people feel protected, so they go to the work and feel good to go everywhere.  

The way the robots is the sensors they have that give them connection and sharp cameras that are enough to see the license plates. The potential that has for this robot is immersive and has a lot of room for growth. The principal part of the of this robot is protect the people, find anything suspicious and send signals. “They’re dogged and consistent, with the patience of a machine. They can run 24 hours a day, have infrared cameras to see in the dark, and are, in a way, are less conspicuous than humans performing similar surveillance duties. A robot might be a novelty the first few times you see it, but machines become invisible, blending into the background while continuing to scoop up data.” This reveals the function of how the robots work and how they will protect the people who are in need. There is also something that this robot can do like: “Knightscope also uses its robots for scanning telephones. These robots not only identify the name of the user but also tells his daily routine. Such as how often the user has visited a certain area and how long they stay there.” To get an info about a person we first need the phone number and they after that we can get the other information. Also, some people have issues with that can invade their privacy. There is also a question what if there aren’t any security robots, then many can face any dangerous situations and can have to face a lot of problems and it can happen in midnight because people must go to work and is not enough sense of security. If the robots walk close with you, then at least you will feel safe that nobody can harm you in physically. 

  Most of the people who are seeing it, liking it and people also believe that technology is advanced, and it will grow bigger in the future. “Knightscope claims that its robots are substantially spare devices, intended to recoup for a lack of staff, sniff problems, and undeniability the police. But in an age when computer systems are replacing people in increasing areas of life. They are likely to gradually play an increasingly prominent role, leaning on their monitoring skills. In the future, Knightscope robots will be more efficient. They will work faster in an effective way. Because there is still working on the robots. All of this will be due to technological progress.”  The future is unknown to all of us, and it is also important to know what technology bring to the people, it can harm us or can help us. The direction we take with this is also up to us. Because we are putting the data into it and it is also how they will function in a manner. 

 In the end, there are still lots of growth for this robot, and some parts might not work. So, it is our responsibility to fix it, they are working for us to protect the people and make them feel safe whenever they will go outside. In the future, people can expect that the security robots will be common and where we are whether in office or other places, they scan our id and get the information immediately. Even if there is both negative and positive sides, it is not difficult to wonder when people look at and imagine what the future will be like.
